Lose Weight by Rewiring Your Mind—Not Just Your Meals
This is the basis for the many visualisations on this blog. This is the first step to do before the future-self visualization, the command therapy, and many more. Or you may just use this meditation on its own to relax and connect with inner yourself. Enjoy!
Top tips for mediation:
Before: use calming meditative music in the background or hold on to crystals in your hands or have some calming incense burning. During: allow yourself to release whatever emotion comes through. Some people yarn, some cry, some fall asleep. If you fall asleep, keep the tape playing as your subconscious is still listening. After: you may feel tired afterwards, if so, allow yourself to sleep if you need to.
Seated meditation set up
Sit with your legs crossed, elevating your bum with a cushion or pillow, placing your hands on your knees palms facing up. Rest your back if you need it and make sure your environment is nice and quiet for 20 mins or so, putting your phone on silent if necessary.

Close your eyes, and focus on your breath. (at least 3 breaths) [] .
With each inhale, inflate your lungs, fill each inch of your diaphragm and rib cage with air; and with each exhale relax each body part, each muscle, each nerve, each muscle fibre into the ground, allowing yourself to feel grounded, allowing yourself to feel the pull of gravity to the floor. []
Allow yourself to go within, in your own internal space. Allow movements and noises around your to send your deeper into your own internal state. That space feels wider, more expansive than your body space. []
If you struggle to relax, repeat the word to yourself: ‘relax’, ‘relax’, ‘relax’, ‘relax’. []
Give yourself permission to relax. Take a few minutes to yourself and go within, calm your nervous system by giving yourself permission to do so; repeat to yourself ‘ it’s okay to relax’, it’s okay to just be’, as many times as you like until you feel relaxed. []
Once you have come to a relaxed state, focus your attention in the middle of your forehead. On the space between your eyebrows. []
Relax the muscles of your face – your eyebrows, your eyeballs in your eye sockets, your nose bridge, your cheeks, your mouth, your jaw, your tongue, your ears. Then move your attention to your neck and create space and length in your neck moving your shoulders down and lengthening the head upwards. Allow your shoulders to relax, your collar bones to relax, your arms to relax, your chest to relax and breathe freely. Allow your core to relax, your hips to relax. your thighs and your lower legs. Feel yourself connected, grounded to the surface you are on. []
Now, inhale and hold on to your wee muscles, lift your pelvic floor and feel the current, the electricity traveling from your lower back, up your spine all the way up to the top of your head. Enjoy the sensation that this gives you and stay there for a few minutes. No matter what comes through – whatever thought, picture, sensation or emotions come through, allow them to be. Do not judge and do not hold on to anything; just let them pass like clouds floating in the sky. Just be and observe.
HEY, I’m Gaelle…
I am a Life Coach and Hypnotherapist. I am also a Personal Trainer, Weight Management Advisor, Pilates instructor and Sports Massage Therapist.
I specialise in working with people who struggle to lose weight, who yoyo diet and binge eat. I help them achieve their ideal weight and keep it off for good by helping them change their habits, identify negative patterns or past/childhood trauma that might make them resistant to weight loss.
I help them gain motivation to change their lifestyle, learn how to meal plan, make better food choices, break their addiction to foods, as well as teaching them how to create an exercise routine that they enjoy.
My mission is to help people lose weight and keep it off by putting mindset first, then nutrition and exercise.
